Investors in People

What is Investors in People ("I.I.P.")?

The principle behind the Investors in People Award scheme is simple; it is to harness the knowledge, skills, experience, and energies of your staff in order to attain your organisation's key objectives, and so identify your firm or organisation as one that attains high standards by involving its employees in this way. However, the detailed list of I.I.P. requirements looks far from simple; they can look very daunting indeed. But those apparent complexities can be translated into procedures that make sense to your managers and staff, and that greatly improve the bottom-line performance of your organisation.

The benefits of Investors in People

In no special order, your organisation's journey to acquire Investors in People accreditation will

  • strengthen the effectiveness of line management throughout your organisation
  • ensure that your organisation has a clear thoughtful set of goals and a strategy for achieving them
  • result in stronger team spirit amongst your staff
  • provide more professional, productive staff reviews allied to business performance
  • increase profits
  • reduce staff turnover
  • give greater effectiveness of staff and manager training
  • improve your ability to attract and retain the best quality staff.

What we do

We make Investors in People achievable.  And we tailor the application of I.I.P. to the sort of organisation you are and the way you work. Investors in People isn't a straijacket.

We have helped over a hundred organisations to prepare for assessment -  firms of solicitors, local Councils, voluntary agencies, the Royal Air Force, hospitals, an famous orchestra, and some well-known London hotels. All have succeeded at first-time assessment.

Our Investors in People consultancy assistance focuses first on the big picture requirements such as the Business Plan, staff appraisals linked to training, and demystifies what is expected of managers or Partners.  We ensure that key procedures work well in practice and that they command the confidence of staff and managers. Done well, an I.I.P. project strengthens management and energises the work force - and should produce a happier workplace.

We provide drafts of all the procedures and any forms that are needed to comply with Investors in People requirements. We ask you to match our knowledge of I.I.P.-compliant procedures with a small Working Group drawn from a cross-section of your firm, to act as a "sounding-board" in preparing for Investors in People assessment, and to help us to edit drafts, and implement agreed procedures. We deliver any training that may be needed, for example in making the best use of a staff appraisal procedure.

Your next step

Please contact us to arrange for an initial, without-commitment first contact to address any initial questions you may have and to help us to diagnose where your organisation stands vis-a-vis the Investors in People requirements. We can then provide you with an accurate idea of the amount of preparation needed for your organisation to reach ready-for-assessment, and of our fees for assisting you to reach that point and achieve I.I.P. accreditation.
